3D Scanner

3D scanning is the process of analyzing a real-world object, person or environment to collect data. A 3D scanning machine or 3D scanner will collect the shape and possibly appearance (like the color) of the subject. This data can then be used to get a 3D model, meaning a digital and three-dimensional object.

Generally, the accuracy of 3D scanners is within a range of 0.01 mm to 0.1 mm. It would be acceptable for most tasks to use a 3D scanner with an accuracy of 0.06-0.07 mm.
